Black Rock Outfall Drain Construction

Contek was tasked to upgrade the outfall drain at Black Rock beach. The existing pipe outlet was
replaced with a new junction pit and box culvert system founded on piles. The project also included
reinstatement of the shared path and bluestone armouring.

Due to the restricted access and sensitive nature of the beach, Contek established the site at Black
Rock Gardens, adjacent to the beach, without impeding users of the gardens. A chute was used to
transport materials securely and a pump to divert stormwater away from the site area.

Contek completed the task successfully with the outlet capable of withstanding any tides and for
patrons of Black Rock Beach to enjoy.
