Chelsea Bicentennial Park Netball Upgrade
Contek was engaged by Kingston City Council to construct six new netball courts to comply with Netball Australia's standards. Works included total re-construction complete with new drainage, lighting, fencing, player shelters, sporting equipment and an acrylic playing surface. Built on top of an old tip site, and in an old swamp, the sub surface conditions presented a number of construction challenges which needed to be overcome. From the use of no-dig footings on the 15m light towers, to the use of lightweight machinery utilising machine control on the pavements, Contek was able to deliver a compliant, high-quality facility on time and significantly under budget.
