Ballam Park Bio Retentional and Ornamental Lake
Contek was engaged by Frankston City Council to landscape and enhance a section of their flagship Ballam Park. The work included the construction of a stormwater diversion into a 6m deep pump well. From here water was pumped treated through a sediment pond, then a large raingarden and finally stored in an ornamental lake where excess treated water is then released back into the existing stormwater pipe reducing the amount of pollution entering Port Phillip Bay from this area of Frankston. Other works included the installation of barbecues, public lighting, viewing structures and shelters, sculptures and significant indigenous planting.
