Dandenong Park Pathway

Contek was engaged by the City of Greater Dandenong to construct a shared path and lighting system throughout a high-profile park in the centre of Dandenong.

With over 2000m of conduits to be installed for the public lighting system around a number of high value trees, it was critical that extreme care was taken to avoid any damage to the trees or their root systems. Employing the use of hydro and pneumatic NDD methods, and through close consultaion with the Council arborist, we were able to complete the installations without any negative effects to the trees.

The main task within the project was delivery of a 400m long 3.5m wide exposed aggregate concrete path. Due to its size, the path was broken into a number of smaller pours which, in conjunction with our sub contract concretor required careful planning and management to ensure a uniformed finish was delivered throughout. This was achieved with no defects identified by the client.
