Whitefriars College
Contek Constructions were engaged to construct a new carpark for the College, in addition to making significant alterations to another.
The primary works regarding the new carpark and bus stop involved significant drainage installations and upgrades, placement of reinforced concrete retaining walls, multi-tiered paved carparking area and installation of public lighting throughout.
The upgrade of the northern carpark saw Contek remove a large traffic island in the carpark, in order to utilize the space given, providing many more parking spaces to the College's faculty. This work included the alteration and redirection of service, installation of new public lighting and accompanying concrete filled bollards, and finally the paving and linemarking of the new area.
Whitefriars College is located in the leafy suburb of Donvale, so environmental safety and tree protection was of the utmost importance for both Contek and the client.
Though much of the project works occurred during the summer holidays, a substantial part of the works took place during the first term. Contek worked harmoniously with the client to ensure minimal disruptions to students, faculty and parents alike.
