Gladstone Road LATM works

Contek was engaged by the City of Greater Dandenong to implement local area traffic management improvements along Gladstone Road, a notorious rat-run that connects three of Dandenong's highest volume arterial roads.
The improvements consisted of raised asphalt pavement pedestrian crossings outside of two schools, drainage modifications, a shared path extension, speed humps, new signage and extensive linemarking overhaul.
The nature of the road meant that construction traffic management was a constant high-priority task. Aggressive drivers and pedestrians were a frequent challenge, along with those who paid no heed to reduced speeds or temporary traffic measures. By implementing our rigourous traffic management plans and job specific method statements, Contek was able to complete this project without incident.
We are proud of our contribution to the Gladstone Road community, having increased safety, not only for all pedestrians, but for the pupils of the Primary and High schools.

Main Scope:

• Installation of three new raised pavements.
• Expanded linemarking with bicycle, pedestrian crossing, chevrons and intersection marking.
• significant kerb and footpath modifications.
• 32m of 'trench gates' under the raised pavements to support drainage.
