Healesville Greyhound Club – Parade Track Works

Contek was tasked with replacing the existing synthetic grass parade track with a new 400m long concrete path. Constructed on a very wet site and with limited access, all works needed to be completed from the racetrack over the lure rail. For animal welfare and maintenance reasons, it was extremely important the specialised sand on the track was not contaminated in any way. Contek utilized a geofabric layer over the entire surface to prevent any contamination and damage to the racetrack sand and was able to deliver the project within the allotted track shutdown window.

Main Scope:

• Significant track protection
• Excavation and bedding completed without entering the path alignment
• 400m long concrete path installation
• Protective edging
• Significant reinstatement and turf installation ready for television audiences
