McClelland Reserve Car Parks
Contek was engaged by Frankston City Council to construct a new car park to increase the capacity for Peninsula Strikers Football Club and Frankston Dog Obedience Club. As the Clubs were still active during the construction phase, Contek worked closely with the Council to stage the works such that sufficient parking was made available when necessary.
As McClelland Reserve was built upon a former landfill, a rigid landfill gas management plan was in place during all excavation, with gas monitoring equipment employed throughout.
The carpark comprised some 4000m² of asphalt pavement, drainage infrastructure installation, kerb and channel and concrete paving.
Main Scope:
• Gas monitoring under a former landfill site
• Earthworks
• Drainage pit and pipe installation
• Flexible pavement installation
• Footpaths and fencing
• Linemarking & reinstatement
