Merri Creek Parklands – Concrete Works

Parks Victoria engaged Contek to construct a 390m length of 3m wide shared path through grasslands in Melbourne's north.
Adjacent to the Merri Creek, this site was of particular cultural importance to the Wurundjeri People. Contek worked with the Wurundjeri representative body to ensure that the works were carried out in accordance with a strict cultural management plan. Wurundjeri representation was on site to supervise all excavation work, and to provide inductions to all staff.
The concrete path was complemented with minor drainage works and topsoiling. The area's environmental sensitivity called for a highly specified and weed free topsoil. Contek was able to source and place this to the Client's satisfaction.

Main Scope:

• Temporary access path
• ~1,250m² of reinforced concrete paving
• Rock beaching, culverts and cut off drains
• Site reinstatement
• CHMP protocols
