Elgar Park Hockey Pitch
Contek were engaged by Whitehorse City Council to construct an FIH accredited synthetic hockey field used for major competition events. The existing conditions were grassy topsoil previously used for small sport events. Works included stabilisation of the existing subgrade, asphalting, synthetic grass installation, hard and soft perimeter fencing, lighting, drainage, shelters and heavy-duty concrete walls behind the hockey goals. As the principal contractor, we were responsible for overseeing all activities within the site and liaised with the client through all stages of construction. With constant communication, discussions lead to cost-savings, innovations and value-added activities, such as a carpark and driveway addition. We are very proud of our relationship we built with our client during this project and believe the success of the project was majorly in part due to the partnership built.
